NCCA Selects New Orleans for 2008 Fall Meeting
Resilient French Quarter is venue for “Coil Coating - Sustaining Our Future”

If any city knows about sustaining its future, it’s historic New Orleans. That’s why the NCCA selected The Big Easy to host this year’s Fall Technical Meeting to be held September 22 – 24 at the newly refurbished New Orleans Marriott, located on the edge of the French Quarter.

This fall, NCCA members will meet to discuss coil coating’s bright future and hold discussions about sustainable practices, environmentally intelligent “green” technologies, and industry trends.

Technical topics will be top of mind, including a panel review of Galvalume and Galvanized Steel, featuring industry leaders from U.S. Steel, Steelscape, Steel Dynamics Inc. and Severstal. The panel will address comparison data on performance, general handling, fielding, processing, and benefits.

Additional Fall Meeting topics include:

  • LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System
  • Cradle-to-Cradle Certification
  • Eco-Efficiency Analysis: A Life-Cycle Assessment of Cool Metal Roofing in the Steep Slope Market
  • Environmental Success Stories from the Aluminum Association and the American Iron & Steel Institute

This year’s keynote speaker is Alan Beaulieu, a trends expert, senior analyst and a principal with the Institute for Trend Research (ITR). Beaulieu has advised thousands of business executives throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, and promises to leave attendees informed and ready to help manufacturers succeed with the help of coil coating.
